Blog Post 10
I really enjoyed making my survey. I made it on a topic I find interesting which is phone usage in relation to insecurity/mental health. As a teacher (specifically an elementary school teacher), I would like to use surveys in my class to get a better understanding of the population of my students. As someone who is passionate about English class, I would like to ask them questions such as: how often do you read? How often do you write? Do you enjoy reading? I would ask them these types of questions to get a better understanding of where they are in terms of English and how I can enhance their skills.
Upon reviewing my classmates' blog posts, I found it interesting how each person is dealing with distance learning. Personally, my experience with it has been good. I feel like I have more freedom and more time to do things I like since I am not having to take a bus to and from campus multiple times a day (very time consuming!). I found that some people agreed with me, but I also noticed that other classmates are having a much harder time with distance learning. They are finding themselves feeling unmotivated and find the whole Zoom thing to be a bit tedious. I thought it was really interesting to see these opposing viewpoints.
The technology-related skill I would like to learn next is Spreadsheets. I am great with Word and Powerpoint, but often feel lost when it comes to Excel. I normally have to find a page on Google that explains to me the parts of it I do not understand. Hopefully someday I can build my Spreadsheet skills because it is a very beneficial tool. Not only does it improve presentations but it also introduces data in a way that is clear cut and easy to read.
